Introducing 'In Balance with Beauchamp Estates', a New Way of Networking
The 'In Balance with Beauchamp Estates' series brings together professionals to exchange ideas and connections within a wellness community.
As we turn our attention to International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, it feels like the right moment to highlight a different approach to networking. This approach moves away from the standard with crowded rooms and quick introductions, and instead towards something more considered.
Hosted by Kay Louise Smith, the first event in a new series, In Balance with Beauchamp Estates, took place on the 19th of February at Technogym on Piccadilly.
The format was simple. Ten people came together for a 45-minute yoga class, instructed by Kay herself. Afterwards, the group stayed for breakfast and conversation.
Kay is a qualified yoga teacher, having trained in Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga in India. She now teaches regularly at the private members’ club The House of KOKO, where her classes focus on helping busy professionals find moments of calm and balance within demanding careers.
Without the usual structure of a networking event, discussion developed effortlessly. People spoke about how they found the class, before naturally moving onto their experience working in the industry, compared stories from similar roles, or shared insight into areas that others were curious about. The calm, and shared, environment created a space for genuine conversation, bringing together professionals operating within the same sphere. From financial and legal services to interior design and property management, the group reflected the wider ecosystem around prime property. The setting allowed them to meet in a way that felt more personal than traditional industry events and allowed attendees to connect with people they may not normally meet through their day-to-day work, yet these networks can be crucial within the property industry.
The impact of networking events of this kind has already been proven. In one instance, a new attendee of Kay’s yoga classes later recommended Kay as a buying agent which then developed into a successful client relationship.
Kay explains how the idea developed:
“The concept evolved very organically. I’m both a yoga teacher and an estate agent, and over time I noticed that more and more people attending my classes were from the property industry. It wasn’t intentional at first, but it became clear that there was something special happening.
“People were not just coming for the yoga - they were enjoying connecting with likeminded professionals who had more in common than just property. Shared values around wellbeing, balance and personal growth created a different type of conversation. It naturally evolved into a new way of networking, where relationships are built through shared experience rather than exchanged business cards.”
It is clear that shared experience removes the pressure that often comes with networking. It creates context, trust and conversation before business is even mentioned.
The In Balance with Beauchamp Estates series is designed to bring together a select group of professionals to exchange ideas, perspectives and connections in a setting that feels more natural than the traditional networking environment.
Each event remains intentionally intimate, with invitations extended to individuals from across business, culture and the international property world.
